Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. As the character Essie in You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of famous directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of an Hulu Original. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over one century. She starred in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Her additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
