Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy de Domme. Her parents, both dentists, and teacher in a school, supported and encouraged her early passion for theatre and drama. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was surpassed by her desire to learn about drama and theater. Success in the beginning and an immediate increase in recognition was a sign of her development as an actor. In 1998, after completing her masters degree, she was asked to join Jeunes Premiers which is an French TV talent-scouting show that is run by Canal+. She also received the award for Best Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to embark on a professional acting career. Tautou is a pupil of an Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and attended school there but has since renounced her Catholic upbringing. She has pursued a modeling career as well as acting and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. In addition to her acting she is also interested in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection pictures at Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival with the title Superficial. She is a photographer who focuses on stars, fame and media who scrutinized her following her rise to fame with Amelie. There are also some photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her role debut as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was an international box-office success, and received accolades in award ceremonies all over the world. Amelie is the most successful film that is French-language in the US. The film's popularity led to Tautou's appearance in many movies ranging from British dramatics such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood by directing Ron Howard of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code along with Tom Hanks.
